Mentorship

Let’s Get You On the Growth Track

You’ve got the skills to write code, but something’s holding you back. Maybe you’re feeling stuck, unsure if you belong, or just need someone to help keep you accountable to your goals.

That’s where I come in! As a leader in the Django community and a professional software engineer since 2009, I’ve worked across several industries including EdTech, e-commerce, and platform integrations. I’ve led development teams, mentored engineers, and spent years answering questions across various communities.

Now, I’m bringing my distinct blend of skills and experience to offer focused support directly to you through mentorship.

I’m here to help you level up.

How Mentorship Works

This is a personalized partnership focused entirely on your goals. Unlike courses or tutorials that follow a fixed path, our work together is driven by your unique needs:

  • Technical growth: Discuss advanced topics, pair program, ask dumb questions, and improve every day
  • Career navigation: Prepare for promotions, interviews, or pivoting to new opportunities
  • Accountability: Stay on track with regular check-ins and structured goal-setting

You’ll realize your growth through a variety conversations, techniques and exercises:

  • Goal setting: We always start here, in order to improve we need to know where to go!
  • Regular meetings: Video calls focused on your current challenges, growth edges, and wins
  • Async support: Clients can chat with me in between sessions
  • In-depth discussions: There are plenty of topics and resources out there, let’s discuss to see how to apply them now
  • Pair programming: Let’s build something! Great software engineering requires practice
  • Code review: You’re going to read more code than you write, it’s worth improving our skill

Lastly, you’re billed at the end of the month. If you haven’t gotten the value you were hoping for, you don’t owe me anything.

Who It’s For

Mentoring will be a good fit for you if you’re someone who:

  • Wants personalized guidance, not generic courses
  • Are serious about investing in your growth
  • Value having an experienced engineer in your corner

You’re investing in yourself, which means you need to be more invested in your success than me. I want to help you achieve your goals, and I’m going to work my hardest to make that happen.

Plans

Choose between two cadences. You pay at the end of the month, and only if you’re happy with your progression.

  • Async support (Signal, Discord, and Email)
  • Resource recommendations
  • Skill discussions
  • Pair programming
  • Design / architecture review

Pick this if you'll need some extra time to implement changes

Weekly meetings

$200/month
  • Weekly video calls
  • Priority Async support (Signal, Discord, and Email)
  • Resource recommendations
  • Skill discussions
  • Pair programming
  • Design / architecture review

Pick this for faster growth

What to Expect

The first meeting is free. We’ll talk about where you are, where you want to go, and whether working together makes sense.

If we decide to work together, you can cancel anytime. You only pay when you’re getting value, not because you’re locked in.

In addition to asynchronous communication between sessions, I’m committing prep and follow-up time to both sides of our meetings. That means for every one of our meetings, I’ll be spending twice that towards your improvement.

Beyond effort, I’m personally driven to help others realize their potential. It tends to be a recurring topic in my writing and what I like to talk about. I asked my several colleagues to rank my strongest traits. The top two by a significant margin were “reliable” and “empathetic.”

I can promise you that if we work together, I will do my absolute best to help you achieve your goals.
